Want your Facebook page to shoot to fame but don’t know how to go about it? The strategy behind a Facebook page does not need to be complicated—but it does need to be carefully thought out in advance. When it comes to growing Facebook pages, that’s where business owners and marketers get stuck—they over-complicate things. All you need to do is follow 4 simple steps that have already produced great results.
1) Passion and Excitement drives your Brand
Your mission doesn’t have to be noble for your page to get a large audience. When you believe in what you’re doing, you can easily cultivate the passion and excitement for your mission. A very good example of this is the fan page of Idea Cellular which is the one most liked Indian telecom pages on Facebook and has its own long list of loyal fans.

They may not have pledged to save the world but the people behind the brand are passionate and committed to creating an experience and making their customers happy—and that kind of passion is contagious. You should try to create the same kind of excitement with your brand too!
When you are starting your own page it is up to you to make sure your page is noticed and hooks users and fans on to it. Once you have a solid fan base, your fans will help spread your message and this in turn will infectiously earn you more fans. Your vision needs to be targeted towards people who are most interested in your brand and less towards those with whom your message can fall flat.
2) Get Them There
Just because you have a Facebook page does not mean it will get traffic and be liked instantly. You need to direct your audience to your page the same way you direct them to your site because this is one place you can interact with them most effectively.
Inbound marketing strategies, including the use of keywords, opt-in opportunities, video, blogging, and cross-promoting on your other social networks are all key factors to “getting found” by the people most interested in your products and services. A good example of a site doing inbound marketing for their Facebook page would be Masahble where it talks about all its communities to grow their presence.
Just as you would on your website and blog, you must continually publish great content on your Facebook page. One way is to pull your blog posts onto your page via the “Networked Blog” app on Facebook. Another way is to post a link directly to your wall and add some commentary about your recent blog posts to encourage your fans to comment.
3) Entertain Your Fans
Some of the most successful pages look like mini-websites inside of Facebook. Branding is key to making your page serve as a hub for all your customers and prospects who are likely spending a lot of their time on the social networking site already.
Instead of pulling your prospective customers to your page it is best you catch them where they already are. But a very important thing to remember is not to push them out to your blog or site until they are ready. Therefore, by using the Static FBML Facebook app, you can create many of the same features you have on your website. Using this app, you can create a portal to sell your products and services, sign people up for your newsletter, and highlight your expertise directly from your Facebook page.
Let us look at a company which is using the mini-website concept in its Facebook page.

Through the above page the users can get a quick overview of destinations and enter details of their holiday plans and they are then directed accordingly to the main website which displays results of their desired customized holiday plan.
4)Real-time Engagement is the Key
The word is engagement and the rule for engagement is to make it about your fans and not about you. More than anything, engagement is really about showing up daily and taking a genuine interest in the likes, interests and opinions of your fans. You have to remember that people love talking about themselves and this is one way you could get them to develop a bond with your product/service.
One of India’s most liked pages on Facebook is that of MTV India. They keep their viewers constantly engaged in conversation and as a result have greatly increased their audience.

They keep their users hooked on by discussing current topics and relating them to previous discussions. A user can spend considerable time on its page and hence its success speaks for itself. Facebook gives statistics of the page usage and then you can vary your content in the direction of the choice of viewers.
Good Luck!
Everybody has something to say about social media marketing these days and this in turn tends to confuse most people. This formula is meant to simplify your process. You can add your own strategies and ideas and simplify it further. Finally, you have to know what exactly you want.
hey this is really helpful.thanks a lot
Content is the king! From my experience I have realized that, more engaging your content greater number of fans/likes you will get for your page. Also I believe that every three months there has to be a content strategy check to make sure you have not got into the same rut. To have fresh new content and new ways of doing it works on social media.
